Suki Yaki Inn Japanese Restaurant

Suki Yaki, the Japanese "friendship dish" of beef and seasoned fresh vegetables has always been the house specialty but the menu of this authentic inn features a variety of traditional Japanese selections.

Nagasaki native Emiko Collett, who arrived in Spokane via Des Moines, Iowa thirty years ago has owned the business since 1994. She began working at the inn under its original owner when she was 25 and sees herself as the custodian of the high standards and traditional recipes, and secrets. Emiko still goes out to Green Bluff to pick plums for the plum sauce.

The sushi is a favorite of customers who have traveled the world, and discovered the inn while attending events at the convention center a block away.

Emiko indulges her passion for baseball with a quick trip to Seattle during the season. She believes that they still make the best Suki Yaki in the Northwest. I still remember the taste from when my mother made it when I was little she said.
